How K&D Mechanical Started
K&D Mechanical is a locally owned heating and cooling company based in Herriman, Utah. Owner Tyrel Kunz started the business to do HVAC the way he always believed it should be done: explain the system honestly, quote it fairly, install it properly and stand behind the result.
Our team brings more than 20+ years of combined industry experience to residential and commercial projects across the Salt Lake Valley. We have spent those years in crawlspaces, on rooftops and in mechanical rooms, which is why we can usually tell you what is actually wrong with a system rather than guessing at it.
Being a small business is a deliberate choice. It means the same faces show up at your door and our reputation travels by word of mouth throughout Herriman, Lehi, West Jordan, South Jordan and Draper.

Tyrel Kunz, Owner of K&D Mechanical
Tyrel Kunz has spent his career in the field rather than behind a desk, and that is still where you will find him. He runs estimates, checks installations and answers the phone, so the person who promises the work is the person accountable for it.
He built K&D Mechanical around one simple standard: an informed customer makes a better decision. That means walking you through what your system is doing, what your realistic options are and what each one actually costs — no invented problems and no pressure toward equipment you do not need.
